Robert LaMonte Hudon, 79, of Vilonia, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born June 25, 1946 in Vallejo, California to Louis LaMonte and Ruth Marilene Morris Hudon.

Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and spent the next 30 years serving his country. He would always tell people that it was his honor to serve. He had tours in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Germany, England, Georgia, California, Mississippi, and New York. In 1969, while stationed in California, his daughter Judy was born. In 1972, while stationed in New York, his daughter Nichole joined the family.

He retired from the military in 1995 and moved to Arkansas where he started a sawmill business that he ran for the next several years. In 2000, he started working for the Post Office, where he worked as a rural carrier in Rose Bud and transitioned to a city carrier in Heber Springs, then moved to Searcy where he worked until retiring in 2014.

In 2001, Bob and Tisa were married. Shortly after getting married Tisa started looking for a church home. Bob initially attended with Tisa so she wouldn't be alone but over time, through the faithful teaching of Brother James, Bob realized his need for a Savior. He accepted Jesus Christ into his life and became a faithful member of Valley Baptist Church. Bob would always love his church family at Valley and greatly delighted in Brother James' teaching.

After his retirement, Bob and Tisa purchased some land and started building their farm. Never one to sit down, he enjoyed raising cattle, working his garden, and tending chickens. Farming and caring for God's creation gave Bob a great amount of peace and enjoyment. One of his favorite things to say was "No matter the troubles in the world, I can always go in the field with the cows and commune with God and all will be well".

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Hudon and father-in-law, Ed Benedetto.

He is survived by his wife, Tisa Elizabeth Hudon; siblings, Arlene Hatcher, Naomi Thompson, Milana Geelhoed, Michele Neithercoat, Cheryl Wilhelm and Loren Hudon; his children, Judy Gray (Rick), Nichole Hudon-Gregory (Catchum), Ben Maddox (Whitney), Lauren Soehner (Thomas), and Lane Sword (Andrew); 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Phyllis Benedetto; brother-in-law, Shane Benedetto as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Valley Baptist Church, 3328 Hwy 36 in Searcy. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the church. Burial with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
