Robert Edward Inlow was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 8, 1934 to Lawrence Edward Inlow and Lola May Owens. He died on November 17, 2024 at The Journey Home, Bartlesville, Oklahoma surrounded by family.
He graduated from Elk City, Kansas High School, in 1953. He married Marilyn White and started a family. He later married Sandra Whitlock Wheeler in May 1965. They were married until her death in 1998.
Thanks to his Dad, he learned farming at a very early age as well as auctioneering. Early in life he was an oil field worker before starting a long career at Reda Pump Co. where he was a machinist and a lead man for over 30 years.
He was a flagman at both the Caney Valley and Dewey Speedway for many years where he was known to humorously wear wigs, hats and even chase a streaker down the runway.
Robert loved his vegetable garden, vacationing, camping, dancing, watching sports of any kind on t.v. and was an avid reader of westerns. Louis L'Amour was his favorite writer. He coached a girls softball team. He was an active member of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church and served well with many mission trips repairing or building homes and churches. He was a former member of the Caney Valley Tractor Club.
He could be funny and had a boisterous laugh. He could fix anything. He grew up in an era where you learned to fix and repair instead of dispose of equipment.
For many years, you could find him early in the morning at the Copan Truck Stop, specifically "The Liar's Table" possibly wearing a little overly salted and peppered biscuit and gravy on the front of his overalls and never without a can of wintergreen tobacco in his pocket.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandy, his brother Lee and his "Christmas baby", daughter Brenda Inlow Rouse.
Those left to treasure his memory are his children, Rita Bibles (Alan Pettigrew), Randy Inlow, Bartlesville, Gay Wheeler and Leah Wheeler of Copan, Lori Egnor (Tony Dempsey) of Vinita, Karen Jordan Stout (Brad) of Amarillo and son-in-law Jay Rouse of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Grandchildren, Valerie Bellenger of California, Cassie Bibles Turnage (Kragen) of Broken Arrow, Blake Bibles of Hopkins, South Carolina, Alexandra Jordan and Preston Jordan (Kelsey) of Texas.
Great grandchildren, Kaylin, Kinzie and Claire Turnage of Oklahoma and Easton, Ean, and Case Hertel of Texas.
His brother's wife and children Sue Inlow, Debbie Inlow Gilley, Curtis Inlow, nephew Mike Edington and cousins Betty Gruber and Max Teeters.
A celebration of life will be held at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
Interment will be at the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.stumpff.org
