Robert Aaron “Bob” Jamison, 78, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on February 6, 1947, to the late George and Stella Jamison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Carolyn (Childers) Jamison.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Tammie Jamison; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Ken Bradley; grandchildren, Zach Jamison, Jody Jamison, Eric Bradley, April Bradley, Jacob Bradley; nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Robert was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and a patriot who loved his country. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the United States Air Force Intelligence and Recon. He served with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, and was Deputy Director of Cherokee County Civil Defense before moving to Adairsville. In Adairsville, he served for many years as Police and Fire Chief, City Manager, and later served on the City Council. He loved scouting and the outdoors and served for many years with Adairsville Troup 12 as Assistant Scoutmaster. He was also a volunteer firefighter for several years with Bartow Count Fire and Emergency Services and a volunteer with the Bartow County Emergency Management Agency. Over the years, he owned several businesses and donated to multiple charities.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow on Friday at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev Mitchell Crow officiating.
A private burial will be held at a later date in Georgia National Cemetery with Rev. Ken Bradley officiating.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Robert Aaron "Bob" Jamison.
