Robert Gene "Bob" Jarrett

Robert Gene Jarrett, age 75 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday January 13, 2025.
Survived by his wife of 43 years, Colleen Jarrett; children, Michelle Jarrett, and Joseph (Erin) Jarrett; grandchildren, Sara, David, Eva, Abigail, and Martha; siblings, Greg Jarrett, and Theresa Jarrett. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survived.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillie Jarrett.
Bob was the quintessential car guy, a passion that was more than evident in his long and dedicated career at Greg's Body Shop. His hands were rarely clean, bearing the proud stains of hard work and a job well done. His commitment to his craft was only matched by his involvement in the community, where he was known for his loving spirit, kind heart, and thoughtful nature. Those who knew Bob understood that his love extended beyond the garage. He was an avid fisherman, often found at the break of dawn by the water's edge, waiting patiently for the day's catch. The wind on his face and the tranquility of nature were his sanctuaries.
Bob's legacy is not only in the engines he brought to life or the serene silence he broke with the sound of his fishing reel. It is in the warmth he left in the hearts of those he met. Bob was the embodiment of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness, touching lives with simple gestures and a generous spirit. As we bid farewell to Robert Gene Jarrett, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His memory will continue to ride the highways of our hearts and cast lines into the depths of our souls. Bob's journey on earth has ended, but the stories of his life will drive on, fueled by the love and respect of all who were privileged to know him.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of services. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums
