Robert Kelly Jarvis, known to his loved ones as Rob, passed away on January 23, 2024. Born in Buncombe County on December 17, 1991, Rob leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and a passion for life.
Rob's career was spent working alongside his step-father in the construction industry. Together, they built more than just structures; they crafted lasting bonds and created spaces that impacted the lives of many. Rob's dedication and skill were evident in every project he undertook. Outside of work, Rob was an avid sports enthusiast. His love for sports was unwavering, and he found immense joy in cheering on the Atlanta Braves and his beloved Carolina Tarheels. Whether it was baseball or basketball, Rob had an uncanny ability to fully immerse himself in the excitement of the game. In addition to his passion for sports, Rob found solace and adventure within the pages of Harry Potter books. The magical world created by J.K. Rowling provided him with an escape from reality and allowed his imagination to roam freely. Rob's fondness for these stories only further exemplified his vibrant spirit.
Rob's passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him best. He is survived by his mother, Penny Thompson and step-father, John Thompson of Charleston. Alongside them are two sisters: Kayla McHone and her husband Cameron of Asheville, as well as Debra Thompson of Charleston. Additionally, he leaves behind a beloved nephew named Brady McHone. Rob was preceded in death by his Nannie, Fredie Cox and Great Aunt, Katie Reece "KK".
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
The care of Robert has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
