Robert J. Jirik

Robert John Jirk, age 75, of Lockport, IL, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bob touched the lives of many through his generous heart, humor, and love for life.
Born on May 15, 1950, in Chicago, IL, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna (Stajszczak), and their two children: Tony Jirik (Gina) and Kimberly (Jason) Lienhardt. He was known as Papa to his five cherished grandchildren (Emma, Matthew, Daniel, Anthony, and Lily). He is also survived by his siblings, Joannie Kmiecik (the late James) and Kevin Jirik (Armida), and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Jirik (Marchese), and Donna's parents, Anthony and Cecilia Stajszczak.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Bob worked for 21 years for Central Steel & Wire Company, followed by 17 years with the City of Chicago. He was the biggest fan and supporter of his kids and grandkids through all of their sports and activities. He was an avid baseball fan and was a diehard supporter of his beloved Chicago White Sox. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest, he cherished spending time with Donna (especially at the casino), their children, and grandchildren. His warmth, kindness, and outgoing personality will be remembered by all of those fortunate enough to have known him. He was fiercely loyal and loved his family unconditionally.

Visitation, Sunday, October 19, 2025, 3:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
Funeral, Monday, October 20, 2025, 11:00AM Service and Time of Remembrance to be held at the funeral home.
Interment, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
