Robert Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Funeral Homes - Chickamauga Chapel on Jan. 17, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Byron Johnson, Sr. age 82, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with The Lord whom he had served for many years. Bob was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Archie Willis Johnson and Gladys Roberta Roark Johnson. He was an electrician by trade and the past co-owner of CEC Electric, Coalson and Johnson Electric, and the owner of Robert B. Johnson Electric Company. He was a proud retired member of IBEW Local 175 for over 55 years. Bob enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, especially to the Amish communities in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the D2 - Gold Wing Club in Dalton, GA, and the Scenic City Model A Club. Bob was a very meticulous person in everything he did, whether working on his vehicles, yard work, mowing his yard with his blue tractor or piddling around the house – it was to be done right. Bob served The Lord in many ways, such as serving as deacon at First Baptist Church of Chickamauga, former deacon at Oakwood Baptist Church, singing in the choir, singing solo's and being a Gideon. Bob was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother to his family. He is survived by his wife of almost sixty-five years: Carolyn Sue Breeden Johnson of Chickamauga, GA, their children: Denise (Michael) Yates of Chickamauga, GA, Robert "Robby" Byron (Toni) Johnson, Jr. of Chickamauga, GA, Sherry (Bob) Fullard of Buford, GA, sisters: Christine (Malcomb) Plaster, Deborah (Ron) Zinicola and Lisa (Gene) Eason all of Chickamauga, GA, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 noon until 8:00 pm at the funeral home and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Chickamauga. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm – Wednesday – January 21, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga with Pastor: Terry Burns, Pastor Michael Savadge and Conrad Fryar officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Georgia. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes – Chickamauga, Georgia. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com
