Surrounded by those that he loved, Robert K. Hatch, Sr., 83, of Tioga Center, NY passed away peacefully at his home on March 29, 2023. Bob as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on February 15, 1940 in Buffalo, NY. Following graduation, Bob enlisted into the US Air Force and proudly served his country from 1960 – 1964. A talented carpenter, Bob enjoyed handcrafting many items for his family and friends. He enjoyed the solitude of watching the birds and handcrafted many bird houses for others to enjoy. Bob also was an avid reader. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Breesport and Spencer.
Bob will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Agnes; his children: Robert Jr. (Michele) Hatch, Thaddeus Hatch, David (Jill) Reese, Susan (Jeff) Harding; Charles (Sandy) Reese; his grandchildren: Shawna, Jennifer (Marshall); Matthew, Stephanie, Kayla; several great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law: William "Bill" (Chris) Cox; a sister Gloria Cox. Bob was welcomed into heaven by his father Carl Hatch; his mother and step father: Gwendolyn (Olcott) and Herb Cox; and his grandson Michael Reese.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, April 15th from 11 – 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm followed with Military Honors. He will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira.
