Born: November 7, 1935
Died: February 26, 2025 in Ft. Myers, FL
Born to Bruno and Wanda Kapus in Chicago, Illinois in the Austin Foster neighborhood.
Bob served in the Air Force as a Jet Mechanic. In 1974 He opened Kapus Fabricating and Supply in Crystal Lake, IL. As a business owner, he made a name for himself in the community, making many longtime friends and business acquaintances.
He moved to Ft. Myers, FL where he purchased KC Sheetmetal and later The Brown Bag Eatery with his wife and stepdaughter Randee and once again infiltrated a community with his keen business intellect and sense of humor where his circle of friends continued to grow.
Bob's family includes his late brother Bill Kapustka and surviving sister Joann (Bill) Eichler of Arizona. Many cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Patricia (Kunkel) Kapus of which they had five children: Christopher R. Kapus (estranged); Kenneth A. (Beata) Kapus, Katherine A. (Steve) Palek, Karen S. (Marty) Hewlett, Kelly J. (Daryl) Blasy and his figuratively adopted son Chris Yanckowitz
Bob married his loving wife Janet (Glorioso) Miele and gained another family that loved him very much Tina M. (Charlie) Bair, Randee M. Miele, Kori M. Miele-Davis
He has 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Bob was always hardworking, fun-loving, caring, dedicated and had a great sense of humor which could be a little "off color" at times, a heartwarming smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. He will be greatly missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at Labemi's in Crystal Lake, IL on his birthday this year (11-7-25). Additional Information will be provided on social media.
