Robert Lee Kasner

In loving memory – Robert (Bob) Lee Kasner, born on June 25, 1935, to Ralph and Esther Kasner, passed away on July 3, 2025.

Bob was raised in Killbuck, Ohio, where he resided on the family farm with his sister Ella Louise (Conner) and brother William. Living and working on the farm gave him a deep appreciation of nature. He loved being outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. Bob graduated from Killbuck high school and left home at the age of 18. He attended college at the University of Pittsburgh before he transferred to the Ohio State University where he finished his engineering studies.

After earning his degree in civil engineering from Ohio State, Bob worked for the state Highway Department in Tuscarawas County followed by stints as an engineering consultant with private firms. He earned his professional engineering and surveying licenses along the way.

Bob moved back to Holmes County in October of 1971 to serve as the deputy county engineer until January 1973 when he assumed the role of Holmes County engineer. Bob served as Holmes County Engineer until his retirement in 2003.

Bob's wife of over 60 years, Roberta (Bobbie) Sue Kasner, passed away in December 2020. He is survived by his sister Louise Conner, his three children Linda (Howell), Louise (Gambone) and James, as well as James's wife Heather Simmons and stepson Terace Lara.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg, Ohio on Saturday August 16 th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
