Lee, NH - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing on July 1, 2025 of Robert L Keniston, Jr of Lee. Born December 22, 1932 the only son of Robert L and Euna (Wilkie) Keniston, Sr., he worked on the family farm for many years. He was the second Chief of Police in Lee, serving from 1965 until 1968. He then become a Deputy Sheriff of Strafford County from 1969 to 1972. Bob also worked for Foss Motors for twenty years and later hauling wood for Woodward Lumber. Bob loved traveling and he and Mary went on many camping adventures across the US, usually with their best friends Wayne & Josie Rice. When home you would most likely find him out on his tractor which was his happy place or spending time with his friends at the morning coffee club or out to eat. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary (Clancy) Keniston, his children Rebeca Uhlenberg, Robin Fimlaid, and R.Lee Keniston, four grandchildren, Justin Fimlaid (Kelly), Megan Hill (David), Justina Keniston, and Lucas Keniston (Catherine), and three great grandchildren, Gavin and Molly Fimlaid and Kenneth Cooley. At his request a service & celebration of life will be held at the Lee Hill Cemetery, Lee, NH on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow at the Grange Hall in Lee. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers Bob requested donations be made to the SPCA, Stratham, NH.
