Robert "Bob" L. Kerr, Jr., 80, of Spencer, NC passed away on March 17, 2025. He was born on November 27, 1944, in Salisbury, NC, to the late Robert L. Kerr, Sr., and Lucille Cauble Kerr.
Robert was a 1963 graduate of South Rowan High School. He dedicated 30 years to Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he served as a trainmaster in Linwood, NC, and South Boston, VA. He was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Kerr.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Ronnie Morgan Kerr; his children, Wendy Barnhardt (David), Jody Kerr (Lisa), Leigh Ann Smith (Walter), and Jeff Kerr (Misty); eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3020 Grace Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147 on Saturday, March 22. The visitation will be 9:00-10:45 and the service at 11:00 with Rev. Joshua Copeland officiating. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Children's Camp Fund or the Church Organ Fund.
