Robert Kimber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bullock Funeral Home & Crematorium on Feb. 2, 2026.
Sumter, SC….Robert Burrows Kimber, Jr., beloved husband to the late Yoshie Uehara Kimber, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home.

Robert was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, a son of the late Robert Kimber, Sr., and the late Cecila Robia Noel Kimber. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring from his military career in 1989. He had a genuine love for people and never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. Animals held a special place in his heart, especially his beloved cats, KiKi and Kitty. In his spare time, he enjoyed peaceful days spent fishing and loved going out to enjoy a good seafood meal. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his longtime friends and caregivers, Paul H. Lamb IV, Helen Lamb, and Michael Marlowe.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Kimber.

An inurnment with military honors will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Helen & Paul, I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Bob one time but I thought he was a very sweet man. May he rest in peace now. May God comfort you both in your time of sorrow.
