Robert Kind Obituary

Kind, Robert H.
DELMAR - Robert H. Kind, 77, passed away unexpectedly from heart disease on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on November 27, 1948, in Montclair, N.J., to the late William and Virginia Adams Kind. He spent the first 16 years of his life in Glen Ridge, N.J. He then moved to Liberty, N.Y. He graduated from Liberty High School, where he excelled in football, wrestling, and baseball.
From there he moved on to college at the University of Albany, where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Accounting. He was a member of the Potter Club fraternity and was known as the "Doctor." He met his future wife, Lois, whom he married in 1972 and happily shared 54 years together.
Bob served in the National Guard for six years. In 1975, he joined the accounting firm, Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte CPAs, where he worked for close to 50 years. The firm grew from a handful of employees when he began to over 100 when he retired. He served as the managing partner for two terms and acquired many clients, many of whom became long-time friends to this day. Bob was a brilliant CPA who contributed to the success of TBC, as well as so many companies and individuals.
Family came first for Bob. His love for Lois never wavered and after 54 years, their bond was as strong as ever. They shared something that is more special than people can imagine. As opposites in personalities, they shared the same traits in the important areas: love, loyalty, and dedication to their family. Bob learned to give and take and worked as hard as he could to make a better life for Lois and their children. Robby, Scott and Alissa had the best Dad possible. Always there for them, he gave them the support and strength that he didn't receive as a child.
Life lessons were taught: enjoy your life, have positive outlooks, be a dreamer, treat people the right way, work hard, show loyalty and be competitive. What he gave to his family can never be taken away and will live on for generations.
Bob was an adventurous person who loved life in every way. He was an avid hiker and a proud member of the 46er Club. He was still hiking the Adirondacks this past summer with his family. The Adirondacks had a special place in his heart. Happy memories were made at Loon Lake and in later years, Lake Placid. As a golf enthusiast, every Saturday morning you would find Bob golfing at Shaker Ridge with his buddies. Don't schedule anything else on a Saturday morning because Bob won't miss his locked in tee time. He enjoyed spending days at the Saratoga Racetrack with his family and always had his Steve Byk's picks sheet on hand. Bob never gave up. He never ran out of energy and always had a smile on his face. He had a way about him that always uplifted spirits, put smiles on everyone's faces and left a lasting impression on anyone he met. A lifelong Giants, Mets, and Knicks fan, he never grew tired of watching them. No matter their record, whether winning Super Bowls or struggling through a 2-11 season, he was rooting them on till the last play. Pop proudly attended many of his ten grandchildren's games, recitals and school functions.
Family and friends meant everything to Bob. He is survived by his wife, Lois; his three children, Robert (Melissa) Kind, Scott (Katie) Kind and Alissa (Zac) Conley; his two sisters, Pat (Paul) Ehrler and Elaine (Marty) Gatley; his in-laws, Linda and Charles Haviland, Nancy and Brian Feeney and Bonnie and Winthrop Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Robby, Brady, Alex, Anna, Natalie, Ian, Luke, Teddy, Lola, and Layna. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob's family on Tuesday, December 16, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Hard to believe Bob has passed on. He was a CPA for our companies 50 years but also a friend to our family. As far as energy goes he was always upbeat and ready to get the work done to the best of his abilities. On top of all that he was first and foremost a family man and his boys now young men followed him into the accounting profession I believe because they respected him so much. Personally consider myself fortunate to have been able to work with him so many years as one of the original clients of the firm he eventually managed. We will all miss Bob no question about that.
