Robert Francis Klobucher, of Dover, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024.

He was the loving son of Frank and Alice Klobucher of Westwood, MA, beloved husband, for over 71 years, to Betty (DeGanne) Klobucher and the best father to Virginia (Ginny Klobucher) Hussey and her husband Steve Hussey, Robert (Skip) Klobucher, Jr. and his wife Lisa Klobucher. He was also brother to the late Frank Klobucher, to Richard Klobucher, William Klobucher, Elizabeth (Betsy Klobucher) Smith, and George Klobucher. He was also called “Baden” by all 6 of his grandchildren, Amee Hussey, Emily (Hussey) Smith, Robert Klobucher III, Marguerite Klobucher, Theresa Klobucher and Bryan Klobucher. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Robert “Bob” was an army veteran and served in post-war WWII and in Korea, as a truck mechanic  where he was seriously wounded, nearly losing his arm in action, in the Punchbowl on the Demilitarized Zone, for which he was honorably discharged and received the Purple Heart.

Bob was self-employed for Klobucher Trucking and in construction for most of his work life, driving a 10-wheel Mack dump truck. He also plowed the streets of Dover for many years. He loved cars, and knew the make, model and year of almost every car. He was a skilled mechanic, restoring sportscars to supplement the family income. It wasn’t unusual to find him and his brothers, hands on hips in the driveway, checking out what was under the hood.

He remodeled most of the house in Dover himself, that he and Betty lived in for over 70 years. Working outside in the yard and puttering around in the garage were his favorite ways to pass the time, along with walking the streets of Dover and Westwood many miles a week.

His favorite vacations were taken during the summers of 1969 and 1970, where he spent 5 weeks driving the family across the country in a motorhome. He never failed to stop to read ALL of the historical landmark signs along the way as he was fascinated by the Old West. Bob and Betty also loved spending the winter months at their home in sunny Florida.

But he was truly the happiest and most content when surrounded by his family…and snacks.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Dover Church, 17 Springdale Ave., Dover, MA.
