Robert Koegel Obituary
Robert's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of South Plainsman public Schools, where he graduated with the foundation that would guide him through life's challenges. His patriotic spirit led him to serve four heroic tours in Vietnam, an experience that would shape his character and values. After his service, he began a successful career in the oilfield, dedicating over sixteen years to an industry that thrived on his hard work and expertise.
A devout Christian, Robert's faith was a constant source of strength and comfort throughout his life. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his existence. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Angela Albertson, and her family, including grandchildren Robert Grayson Griffith and Thomas James Wristen, along with great-grandchildren Laura Adele Wristen and Atlas Gibson Wristen, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and resilience.
Robert's brothers, Eric and Kathy Koegel, Christian and Helga Koegel, and his sister, Sue Christian, along with her husband Richard, will fondly remember their brother's humor and captivating personality. His memory will also be treasured by his brother: Nick and Debra Wirtz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were touched by his friendly and interesting nature.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Otto and Geraldine Adele (Lamb) Koegel, his biological father, George Gibson Holt, his cousin, Bryan Lamb, and his aunt, Ruth. They have now welcomed him into eternal rest.
An avid gunsmith, Robert found solace in the meticulous art of crafting and repairing firearms. His love for reading was primarily centered around his bibles, through which he found wisdom and solace. His sense of humor was infectious, and his ability to make others feel at ease was a gift that made him a beloved figure in his community.
Robert James Koegel's life was a testament to the power of laughter, the importance of friendship, and the value of an interesting story.
