Robert Spencer Kolb, born on June 1, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on October 22, 2024, in his hometown. A cherished member of his community, Robert will be remembered for his kind spirit, keen intellect, and deep appreciation for both history and literature.

He was a proud alumnus of Perry Meridian High School, graduating with the Class of 1985. His passion for reading was evident throughout his life, particularly his admiration for the works of Daniel Brown. Robert's love for history shaped many of his conversations, as he enjoyed sharing fascinating facts and engaging stories from the past.

A true enthusiast of leisure activities, Robert found joy in exploring the great outdoors, especially at Potato Creek State Park in Plymouth. A highlight of his adventures was finding a medallion for his cane. Robert enjoying gaming especially playing Pokémon, One of his brother Wayne memorable moments, that stood out was when the two of them were returning home from Plymouth, Indiana while driving through Gary, Robert was playing Pokémon on his phone and he had Wayne driving all over Gary eventually stopping by Lake Michigan  to capture a rare Pokémon character. Over the last year Robert would check his phone to see if anyone else capture that character and he still was the only one, he was proud of this accomplishment and one his brother Wayne will never forget. His brother Wayne and Robert shared inside jokes for years, one in particular was Wayne had a hammer sitting out and Robert ask what the hammer was for and Wayne replied "it's for people asking about the hammer." Wayne  found a t-shirt with a picture of a hammer on it with the caption "This is not a drill"

Robert is survived by his beloved brother, Wayne Kolb, who shared countless moments of joy and companionship with him. He is predeceased by his father, Wayne E. Kolb, and his mother, Arleen R. (Spencer) Kolb, who laid the foundation of love and encouragement that Robert carried throughout his life.

The memory of Robert Spencer Kolb will remain alive in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memorial gathering will take place on Friday November 1, 2024, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. As family and friends gather to celebrate his life, they will share stories of his warmth, humor, and passion for life.
