Died: October 25, 2025 in Joliet, IL
Robert James "Bob" Kozar a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2025 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Joliet. Robert was born to his father Anton Kozar and his mother Joan Kozar (née Britz) in Joliet, IL on August 11, 1963.
Bob was born, raised, and educated in Joliet, IL. He was a proud graduate of both Saint John the Baptist Grade School and Joliet Central High School. He spent the bulk of his professional career as a lineman for ComEd until his retirement. He was an active member of both the Northwest Recreation Club as well as the Moran Athletic Club, and he loved to spend his free time either fishing or on the golf course. He loved his family dearly and his sudden passing will undoubtedly be challenging for his beloved siblings as well as his many friends and loved ones in the Joliet community.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Joan, and his sister Joanie F. Kozar.
Bob is survived by his siblings Judith (William) Stickels, Kathleen (Edward) Batis, Thomas (Linda) Kozar, Janet (Daniel) Prado, and John (Suzy) Kozar. Many other extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations made in Robert's name be directed to either the Friends of Sunny Hill, Inc. at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County, 421 Doris Avenue, Joliet, IL 60433 https://friendsofsunnyhill.com/ or Holy Cross Catholic Church at 830 Elizabeth St, Joliet, IL 60435.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL 60435. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 830 Elizabeth St, Joliet, IL. Inurnment will follow immediately after Mass at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery, 812 Clement St. Joliet, IL in a graveside service.

Bobby will always be one of my cherished old friends. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always smile thinking of the times we would go to Earls Cafe and dance the night away. Back in the day Bob was a good dancer. Rest well my friend
