Rose E. Kozar (nee Soukup), age 106, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Plum Creek Assisted Living in Brunswick, Ohio. She was born on August 30, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio, marking the beginning of a life filled with faith, love, compassion, and unwavering strength. Through her many years, Rose witnessed and contributed to tremendous changes in our world. She had a career as a beautician and continued to get her hair done weekly up until the beginning of this year. Rose’s passions included crocheting, making jewelry, completing word search puzzles, and watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns. She touched the lives of many, including her two children, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild, who are a testament to her enduring legacy, and who will miss her greatly.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Monica Kravetz (Ken); grandchildren, Colleen Kravetz and Jeff Kravetz (Stephanie); and great grandson, JD Kravetz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Kozar; son, Edward J. Kozar; parents, Joseph and Anna Soukup; and siblings, Joseph Soukup, John Soukup, Emma Soukup, Stella Nemec, Frank Soukup, Edward Soukup, Anne Kazimour, and Elsie Soukup.
The family will receive friends at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick on Wednesday, January 21 from 10:00 -11:00 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be sent to them for final expenses.
