ALBANY - Robert David Krouner was born on April 5, 1929. He died on December 6, 2025, of old age (96). Robert was born and raised in Albany, New York. His parents were Herman Krouner and Celia (Glasser) Krouner. Robert graduated from Albany High School in 1947. He graduated from Clarkson College, with a Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, in 1951. He lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Albany, N.Y.
Upon graduation from Clarkson, Robert began his engineering career in industrial sales with the Trane Company, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and worked in his father's mechanical contracting business. In 1961, he founded Robert Krouner, Consulting Engineer, and was a leading HVAC engineer in the Capital District for 45 years. Notable clients included the Knolls Atomic Energy Commission, Exxon, The Hospital Association of the State of New York, and Cornell University.
Robert was married to Elaine (Rosenthal) Krouner. He is survived by his son, Todd Krouner; and, his wife, Shari Kahn Krouner; and his daughter, Lynn Applebaum; and her husband, Marc Applebaum. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Krouner, and her husband, Omri Kedem; Samantha Krouner Manikundalam, and her husband, Arun Manikundalam; Craig Applebaum, and his wife, Lauren Applebaum; and Lauren Applebaum, and her wife, Dee. He is also survived by his great-granddaughters, Mia Austin Manikundalam and Harriet Applebaum; and his sister, Charlotte Krouner.
Robert was active in the PTA, served as President of the Albany Academy Father's Association, where he inaugurated the Saturday youth basketball program, and coached Little League. He was an avid golfer, and belonged to Colonie and Ballen Isle Country Clubs. He was a lifelong member of Temple Beth Emeth. He volunteered his services to the building committees of virtually every organization with which he was affiliated.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at 10 a.m., at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Rd., in Albany. Burial will follow at Congregation Beth Emeth Cemetery, in Loudonville.
