Robert "Bob" L. Krout, age 93, of
Souderton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Telford, Lansdale, and Perkasie, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Grand View Hospital.
Bob was the beloved husband of Ruth L. (Sherratt) Krout, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage. Born in
Perkasie, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lester A. Krout and the late Marian (Keeler) Krout.
He attended Sell-Perk High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, working on the flight deck of the USS Midway. Bob was employed for 42 years as a Material Control Accountant with the former Link-Belt Company (now FMC Technologies) in Colmar, Pennsylvania. He also worked part-time at J. David Sprouse Florist in Lansdale. After retiring, he continued working part-time at Harleysville Ace Hardware.
Bob was a dedicated member and Past Master of the Free and Accepted Masons, Shiloh-MacCalla Lodge No. 558 in Souderton. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 234 in Souderton, a charter member of Sellersville Explorer Post No. 1-where he achieved the rank of Ranger-and a volunteer with the MCC Material Resource Center in Harleysville. He was a faithful member of Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton.
Bob enjoyed reading, traveling, and following the history of the USS Midway. He was an avid baseball fan, especially of the New York Yankees. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed attending Highland Park Camp Meetings. In his younger years, he was active in the Boy Scouts and also enjoyed camping and hunting.
A hardworking and independent man, Bob was a devoted provider and deeply committed to his family.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by his sons, Ronald L. Krout and wife, Michele of
Perkasie, Pennsylvania, and Rick L. Krout and wife, Cindy of Wesley Chapel, Florida; his grandsons, Brendon J. Krout and wife, Christine of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Ryan L. Krout of
Perkasie, Pennsylvania; his six great-grandchildren, Bella, Marin, Judah, Branch, Ozzy, and Rock; and his two brothers, James D. Krout of Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and Alfred L. Krout and wife, Dorothy of Manning, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit Street,
Souderton, Pennsylvania.
A future inurnment will take place at North Wales Baptist Church Cemetery.
