Robert Paul Kruse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 81 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on March 29, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky, Bob led a life filled with compassion, love, and commitment to his family and community.

Bob's professional journey was marked by dedication and success, beginning with Amour – Dial, Pittsburgh Plate Glass, Stokely Van Camp, American Fletcher National Bank then serving as Marketing Manager and eventually VP of Marketing for Bank One Corporation for two decades before retiring in 2001. His career was a testament to his hard work and innovative thinking, but it was his role as a family man that truly defined him.

A proud Army Sergeant during the Vietnam War, Bob exemplified the values of service and sacrifice during his time in both Vietnam and West Berlin. In addition to his military service, he took great pride in his education, graduating from St Henry Catholic School in Erlanger, Kentucky and holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky.

He cherished the moments spent with his family and was deeply involved in their lives. Bob's loving wife, Carol Laynn Kruse, stood by him through the years, sharing life's joys and challenges. He is survived by his devoted children: Melissa Marie (James) Van Pelt, Robert Wayne (Teresa) Kruse, and Jennifer Lynn (Jason) Wenberg. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Alec Van Pelt, Carson Van Pelt, Grace Van Pelt, Alexa Kruse, Benjamin Kruse, Owen Wenberg, Nathan Wenberg, and Emma Wenberg, all of whom brought immense happiness to his life. He is also survived by his brother James Richard (Nancy) Kruse, his brother-in-law Dan Baker, several fond nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob was a man of many interests and hobbies, enjoying golf, ancestry investigation, investments, baseball coaching and umpiring, reading, and traveling. He was known for his warmth and an unwavering dedication to his family. However, Bob was best known for his ability to take command of a room and hold court with any audience, known or otherwise. No one could tell a story better. A member of St. Jude Catholic Church, he served as president of the Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, money counter, and festival volunteer. He also volunteered for St. Vincent dePaul, where he showcased his commitment to giving back to the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Wainwright and Mary Louise (Wiegel) Kruse, and his brother, Thomas Lee Kruse. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

Visitation will be held at O'Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6101S. East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227 on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 AM with military honors.

The charismatic spirit of Robert Paul Kruse, a true beacon of light in the lives he touched, will be profoundly missed. His legacy of love and service will forever resonate within his family, friends, and community.
