Robert V. Kuhn

Robert V. (Bob) Kuhn passed away September 12, 2025. He was the husband of the late Pauline "Polly" Kuhn who died April 29, 2018. Polly and Bob were married for 72 years when Polly passed away.

Bob was born June 11, 1922. He was the son of Anna and Guy X. Kuhn, Sr.

Bob entered the military service on December 7, 1942, when he and 41 other young men marched up N. George Street to the York, PA railroad station, on their way to Fort Meade, MD, for induction into the U.S. Army. From there he was sent to Camp Phillips, Kansas for basic training. He proudly served in the field artillery of the 94th infantry division in France and Germany during WW II. He was eventually discharged in March 1946.

Bob worked for Dressel's Welding Supply for 44 years. He and Polly moved into a cottage at Normandie Ridge retirement center in 1997, where they enjoyed many happy years together. Bob began the wood shop at Normandie Ridge where he worked making things for residents, friends and the Normandie Ridge facility. Throughout his years, Bob enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Jeffrey of Wrightsville and Thomas of Gettysburg, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 27, at Aldersgate Church, 297 Tyler Run Road in York. Visitation begins at 10:00 and the service at 11:00. Bob's ashes will be distributed in the memorial garden at Aldersgate alongside those of his wife, Polly.

His memorial service will include participation of the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
