Robert “Bob” William Lagrou, 80, passed away June 26, 2025, at the Toledo Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on March 11, 1945, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Hector and Lucille (Wiswell) Lagrou. Bob was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On June 19, 1965, he was to married Linda Lou Beckley at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Fr. Leo A. Lemkuhl, and they just celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage on June 19th before his passing. He was a lab technician at Whirlpool for many years before retiring in 2004. Being a hard worker by nature, Bob continued to keep himself busy after retirement by working for Advance Auto Parts for another 14 years.
Bob was a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A lifetime member of the Croghan Aerie 712, he was deeply engaged with this organization for over 60 years, serving as secretary for 40 remarkable years. His commitment to the Aerie as well as at the state level was recognized when he was proudly inducted into the Hall of Fame, a testament to his unwavering dedication and leadership. In addition to his contributions to the Aerie, Bob was well-known throughout his community for his role as the #1 Sandusky County Fair Shuttle Driver. His friendly demeanor and commitment to service made him a favorite among fairgoers, and he took great pride in ensuring everyone had a pleasant experience at the fair.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Lagrou; children, Robert (Sharon) Lagrou, William (Krista) Lagrou all of Fremont; grandchildren, Stephanie (Nick) McGill, Lindsay (Jared) Ballenger, Kortni (Garrett) Wiseman, Samantha (Jared) King, Allison (Matthew) Ranazzi; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kason, Tyson McGill, Elizabeth and Eleanor King, Amelia Ranazzi; siblings, Janet (Tom) Nieset, Richard Neer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harley Frazier, Sam Frazier and Frances Wright.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. A service by the Fremont Eagles Aerie 712 will take place at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, OH, 43420. Fr. Krzysztof Kardzis will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde, OH.
