Jeffrey L. Lagrou, 68, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky OH. He was born on September 10, 1956 in Fremont, OH to Arthur and Patricia (Moneghan) Lagrou. Jeff was a 1976 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Jeff married Yvonne Barnes on September 2, 2005 in Fremont, OH. He was a member of the Fremont Eagles. Jeff had a great passion for being outdoors in nature where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was known as the “Critter Gitter” and his famous saying “Are Ya Nuts”.
Jeff is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Yvonne Lagrou, Clyde, OH; children, Erica (Brad) Keckler, Fremont, OH; Kyle (Taylor) Lagrou, Green Springs, OH; stepchildren, Joseph Haar, Jeremy Haar; siblings, Steven (Sonya) Lagrou, Teresa (Dale) Hasselbach, Timothy Lagrou, Traci Lagrou, Lorie Lagrou; stepfather, Robert (Joyce) Nepper; grandchildren, Austin Payne, Cameron Payne, Carter Payne, Chloe Lagrou, Carson Lagrou, Claira Lagrou; great grandchildren, Hayzel Payne, Kendall, Kohman, Enslee Payne; brothers-in-law, Vern (Maria Pelkey) Barnes, Jr and Lynn (Mary Lou) Barnes.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; niece, Tara Lagrou; stepsisters, Deborah Wyka, Kay O’Donald and Mary Beth Nepper.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm with an Eagles Service beginning at 7:30 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, May 30, 2025; 10:30 at the funeral home with Pastor Forrest Kirchenbauer officiating.
