Robert was born June 7, 1937, in Cornwall, Ontario the son of the late Aurele Lalonde and Leonie (Bertrand) Lalonde.
He enjoyed being a Linotype Operator for the Williams Press and Schenectady Gazette. Later in life he worked as an independent contractor in Real Estate and as a Appraiser.
Frenchy loved golf, hockey and billiards. His favorite place on Friday night's was the Melvin Roads American Legion post 1231in East Greenbush.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Lise (Leroux) Lalonde; sisters, Claire (Roger) Bazinet and Francoise Love (Richard Dec.) Lalonde; nephew, Michell (Linda) Bazinet; niece, Nicole (Larry) Patenaude; brothers-in-law, Pierre(Joyce)Leroux and Daniel (Sylvie Lafrenier) Leroux; and nephews-in-law, Joseph Leroux, Isaiah Leroux and Isaac Leroux.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass Jan. 6, 2026 at 10:00 am in the Church of St Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to Circles of Mercy at 11 Washington St. Rensselaer, NY 12144. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert "Frenchy" Lalonde, please visit our floral store.
