Robert Lamphier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rochette Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Oct. 15, 2025.
Robert "Bob" C. Lamphier, 77, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He is the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Beth" (Hammond) Lamphier with whom she shared 13 years of marriage.
Bob was born in Malden, Massachusetts on July 18, 1948 and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Barchard) Lamphier. He received his education in the Malden School System and was a graduate of Malden High School.
Bob dedicated his entire career to the electrical trade, ultimately achieving the respected title of Master Electrician. Throughout his life, he balanced self-employment with working for a variety of companies, building a reputation for skill, reliability, and professionalism. In the later years of his career, Bob took great pride in serving with the Department of Transportation for the State of New Hampshire, where he applied his expertise to projects that supported the community and improved public infrastructure. His commitment to his craft and his state was evident in every job he took on.
Bob was the kind of person who was always ready to lend a hand, especially to his friends and neighbors. Exceptionally handy, he took great pride in home projects, including building two ramps for his beloved wife, Beth, and constructing their beautiful deck; each project a true labor of love. Known for his warm, outgoing nature, Bob could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, making everyone feel seen and welcome. He was thoughtful in everything he did, right down to tending his tomato plants and joyfully sharing the harvest with those he cared about. Fondly known as the "Mayor of Cumberland Farms," Bob will be deeply missed by the many friends he met and chatted with there regularly. His kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit leave a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Beth, he is survived by his four children, William "Billy" Lamphier and his wife Regan of Nashua (and her son Thomas); Michelle Lamphier of South Carolina, Tommy Lamphier of Haverhill, MA and Leo Lamphier of Virginia; his grandchild, Avalon; as well as his sister Lee Berrier and her husband Jerry of Malden, MA; his niece Rachel Spattafore and many lifelong friends, some established since grade school and beyond.
In addition to his parents, he was sadly predeceased by his grandson, Ethan Lamphier.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, there will not be a funeral. A Remembrance ceremony will be held at a later date.

My sincerest condolences to Bobs family. The neighborhood will not be the same without him stopping to have a chat or see if anyone needs a hand.
