Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel - Wheatland on Feb. 11, 2026.
Robert L. "Bob" Lauck, 93, went quietly and peacefully into God's arms in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 7, 2026, in
Wheatland, Wyoming, with his wife and daughter-in-law by his side.
Bob was born on Sunday, December 18, 1932, to Louis and Katherine (Stugart) Lauck at the family home in Wheatland. A lifelong resident of Wheatland, he was confirmed in the E and R German Lutheran Church and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1950. During his high school years, he was active in basketball and FFA, interests that reflected both his teamwork and his deep agricultural roots.
On August 17, 1954, Bob was drafted into the United States Army and served on active duty until June 14, 1956. He served in Korea and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his honorable service.
Following his military service, Bob went to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph. While working on a job in Rawlins, Wyoming, he met the love of his life, Lorretta. The couple was married in 1960 in Wheatland. In 1961, they returned to Wheatland to help on the family farm, where they built their life together and raised their three sons: Warren (born 1961), Wayne (born 1964), and Wayde (born 1965).
Bob and Lorretta made their home on the family farm and purchased it in 1975. Bob was an avid and dedicated farmer, known throughout the community for having the straightest rows - a testament to his precision, pride, and strong work ethic. He was a member of the Beet Growers Association, Wheatland Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 10, and VFW Post 3558.
Above all, Bob treasured his family. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his dogs, and sharing good conversations with friends and family. After moving into town, he took great pride in caring for his yard, giving it the same attention to detail that he gave to his farming.
Bob will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his service to his country, his dedication to the land, and his deep love for family and community.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Lauck; sons, Warren (Kathy) Lauck, Wayne (Kristie) Lauck, and Wayde (Laura) Lauck; grandchildren, Lacey Lind, Crissy Lauck, Kyle Lauck, Abby Bell, April Lauck, Andrew Lauck, and Melita Hernandez; and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Lauck on July 10, 1976; mother, Katherine Lauck February 16, 2002; brothers, Marvin Lauck on March 27, 2022 and Norman "Buddy" Lauck on May 25, 2011.
A memorial to Make a Wish Wyoming, 236 West 1st Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 or to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306 would be appreciated by the family.
A service will be held in the summer of 2026.
