Robert James Leander

Robert James Leander, age 46, of Douglas, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia after a brief sickness. Robert was born on August 3, 1979, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to Claire Judith Lawrence Leander and James Leander, Jr. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lena Lepore Leander and James Leander, Sr.

Robert worked in the maintenance department of CCA in Nicholls, Georgia, where he was loved by all of his work family and friends. He enjoyed being around his family and his friends where he was loved by all who knew him Robert faithfully attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinch County.

In addition to his parents, Robert leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law: Kathleen Leander and husband Timothy Nash of Warwick, Rhode Island; two special nieces, Juliana Nash and Emily Nash both of Warwick, Rhode Island; his maternal grandparents, Clara Smith Lawrence and Walter Lawrence of Cranston, Rhode Island; as well as a number of extended family members.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no formal services for Robert will be held at this time.
