Robert LeBuis Obituary

Robert L. LeBuis 1938 - 2021
BARNEVELD - Robert L. LeBuis, age 83, of Barneveld, passed on July 31, 2021, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare.
He was born on June 6, 1938, in Albany, NY, a son of the late Leo and Doris (Filkins) LeBuis. He was educated at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School and later at Utica College. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Roberta Stevens in 1958, in Westerlo, NY. Mr. LeBuis worked at General Electric, Utica, retiring as General Manager of Radar Programs, in 1994. He was a member and an Elder of South Trenton Presbyterian Church.
He was an active member of many organizations, including Believe 271, the Barneveld Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as the Captain and Treasurer and as Fire Police, the Holland Patent American Legion Leon R. Roberts Post 161, the Elfun Society, Town of Trenton Adopt a Platoon for the aid of troops overseas, the International Association of Lions Clubs in Holland Patent where he served as the treasurer for a number of years, the Glass Hill Golf Club where he served on the board of directors and was a caretaker of Fairchild Cemetery for a number of years.
Robert leaves behind his beloved wife, Roberta; his sons, Jeffrey (Bonnie), Joseph (Laurie) and Jerrold (Jessica); grandchildren, Garret, Maxwell, Devin, Connor and Morgan; great-grandchildren, John and James; his brothers, Donald (Donna) and Dennis (Debbie); many nieces and nephews; as well as his brothers-in-law, Merritt Chamberlain, Dennis Cummings, Dennis Boomhower; and a sister-in-law, Carol Stevens. He was predeceased by his sisters, Janice Bassler, Diane Chamberlain, Marlene Boomhower and Charis Cummings; as well as a brother-in-law, William Stevens, Jr. Also surviving are countless community friends, including from Adirondack Lanes and all of the organizations to which he was involved.
The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful care provided from his home health aides.
Calling hours are Tuesday (today), August 3, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc. 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Fire Department Service will take place at the conclusion of calling hours. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 4, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Susan Solomon, officiating. Interment will follow in Olden Barneveld Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Believe 271 Foundation, Inc., PO Box 357, Holland Patent, NY 13354. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
