Robert Edwin Leitner

Robert Edwin Leitner, 90, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on July 30, 2023, at Genacross Lutheran Services. He was born in Liberty Center, Ohio on October 12, 1932, to the late Homer and Helen (Payne) Leitner. Robert attended Wauseon High School and Liberty Center High School. He married Marlene Hunter on October 21, 1952, in South Carolina.
Robert was employed as a truck driver for United Trucking for 27 years. He also drove for Gerken Paving Company and was the previous owner of U-Lock Self Storage in Napoleon. Robert served in the National Guard and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Having been the recipient of a heart transplant himself, he volunteered as a speaker for organ transplant education. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and wintering in Okeechobee, Florida.
Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marlene; children, Vicki (Carl) Hill, Tony Leitner, and Terry Leitner; daughter-in-law, Dawn Leitner; and grandchildren, Kelly, Kate, Jon, Chris, Randy, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Erin, Joel, Heather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Rick Leitner and Timothy Leitner; daughter-in-law, Carla Leitner; and siblings, David Leitner, Delsey Leitner, Andrew Leitner.
