Robert Lembcke Obituary
He worked for many years as an engineer at Monsato, in St. Louis, MO and Pensacola, Florida. He had been an active member of ASME since 1975, and served on several committees over the years.
His passion was cars, especially vintage sports cars. He loved working on them, racing them, and talking shop about them. He was a member of SCCA, and participated in races in many states. His many friends knew him as "Okie" or "Pokie Okie".
He attended the local Christian Science Church.
He was a proud member of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, he attended as many council meetings and stomp dances as possible. He will be buried in the tribe's cemetery near his ancestors, in Miami, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his sister, Mary (Kenneth) L. Davey of Stillwater, OK, niece: Kristen Gillman (John Ray), nephews: Garret Davey (Erin), Mark Davey, Jay Davey (Amber), and great nieces Camryn Davey, Everly Davey and Emerson Davey and great nephews Colson Davey and Noah Davey.
The family will receive friends at 12 noon, and the service will begin at 2:00 PM with Mark Gibson officiating.

I met Bob at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Oklahoma. We were both waiting in the tech line and just struck up a conversation about cars, our favorite obsession, and soon found out we lived only 30 minutes away from each other. Always super friendly and always welcoming whenever I had time to stop by his garage to see what he was working on, we spent many weekends after that going to races and car shows together. I think of you often, Bob, and I miss you.

I purchased a Elve Courier project from Bob years ago, drove from Ontario Canada to Pensacola to pick it up, and met Bob for the first time at his home. We kept in touch since, and he always had kind words as he watched me move forward with his abandoned project. He even offered me to share a hotel room in Pittsburgh at the grand prix one year. Wonderful kind man, I am sure he will be sadly missed by many. RIP Okie.

I had known Bob for 47 years. We shared an enthusiam for auto racing resulting in many memories formed at race tracks throughout the country. The photo below is of Bob as I will always remember him.

I met Okie at many race tracks during my cross-continent trips. He was a true competitor, and always generous with a helping hand. I somehow got on to his email group list, and was always entertained by the information and links that he shared, and the breadth of his knowledge. Bob, you were a "stand up guy"! An Okie to the core, at least you had me believing that was what an Okie was like. That 'dry humor'. Enjoyed talking racing every time we met and seeing your collection in your barn was great. Your British Leyland Runoffs jacket never looked better on you. May you finish on the podium in all your future races.
