Robert Lesak, loved and admired by those who knew him, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025. On November 21, 1938, Robert was born to Ida Schoenfeld Lesak and M.C. Lesak in Wharton, Texas. Beginning his Sophomore year at El Campo High School, Robert participated in the DE program. This allowed him to go to school in the morning, and work at El Campo Electronics in the afternoon. He graduated in 1957. He couldn't wait to marry his high school sweetheart, Ramona Harton. Their beautiful 67-year marriage began on November 17th, 1957. They were married for a few short years before Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force to serve his country. His service began in 1961, and he served until his honorable discharge in 1965. During that time Robert began taking accounting courses at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Once Robert was back from serving in the Air Force he was employed full time at Texaco. Robert worked at Texaco during the day and attended classes at the University of Houston in the evenings. During this time the two became three as the Lesak family excitedly welcomed their only child, Kristine, in 1969. Robert went on to earn his Bachelor degree, graduating in 1970. Being the dedicated, hard worker he was, he moved up in the company to become the Accounting Manager for International Exploration Worldwide. Robert worked at Texaco for 31 years. After his retirement in 1996, Robert and Ramona moved back to where their journey together first began, in El Campo. This is where Robert discovered his love for golf, and joined the El Campo Country Club where he later became a member, and the Treasurer of the MGA. Robert also played courses in UK, Scotland, and Bermuda. After Robert was no longer able to play, he became the Course Marshall. He was known as "Mr. Robert" or "The Marshall." He mentored young golfers, encouraging them to do their homework, and to be the best they can be. They sought his advice on college choices and career paths. He was also known as the man who gave golf balls to the younger players. Robert and Ramona loved to travel. Not only exploring the United States, but also Europe and multiple visits to their favorite place – Bermuda. Among Robert's many notable titles and accomplishments were Treasurer, both at the church they attended in Sherman, Texas, and Faith Lutheran Church in Bellaire, Texas. He also served on financial committees, and was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in El Campo. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Ramona, daughter Kristine Gasson (James Quinn), granddaughter Megan Monger (Tim), grandson James Gasson, great-grandchildren Nathan Monger and Ryleigh Monger, sister Ann Schaer (Doyle) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Max Lesak, sister Laverne Bomersbach, and infant twin brother. The Memorial Service remembering the life of our beloved Robert will be on Saturday, October 11th at 2 pm at the Danevang Lutheran Church, Danevang, Texas. Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Supak, Stephen Davis, Tommy Hendry, Vernon Jaks, and Wayne Waters. Memorial donations may be made to Danevang Lutheran Church, Danevang Heritage Museum, or First Presbyterian Church.
