Robert Lessack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strunk Funeral Homes and Crematory - Vero Beach on May 12, 2025.
Robert Lessack, age 75, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away suddenly but peacefully on May 10, 2025. Born on September 17, 1949 in Jersey City, NJ, Bob graduated from Rutgers University with a master's degree specializing in creative arts. After being an art teacher for 8 years, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and became a life-time business owner. Bob took pride in his creativity and work ethic. He said that he'd never retire and would work until his last day – he achieved this promise.
Out of the office, Bob enjoyed pool volleyball with his closest friends in the pool he proudly designed, joking around on the tennis court and dancing to live music. He travelled the world and always came back with amazing stories, from meeting Pete Townshend of The Who at the private club in St. Jame's (London) and making Bloody Marys for Robert Plant in the airline lounge, to sharing a bottle of Vodka with Zak Starkey after a charity concert in Pacific Palisades. At home, Bob loved to make everyone laugh with intelligent jokes (and goofy ones too) and always laughed along when someone made fun of him.
Bob loved people and always looked after those around him. His friends will all remember his upbeat personality, big heart and generosity in offering help – particularly in construction, design and business ideas. He will be remembered for being the One of a Kind Bob and for living life to the fullest.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Norman A. Lessack and Cecile Smith. He is survived by his wife Jiachen Lessack, his brother Steven Lessack and wife Sue, his children Seth Lessack and wife Jennifer, Josh Lessack and wife Keri with their children Haylin and Carter.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, May 15th, 2025 at Strunk Funeral Homes and Crematory. In lieu of flowers and tears, the family asks that you share your fondest memories of Bob who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I was a student of Mr. Lessack's when he taught art at Holland Township Elementary School, Milford N.J. in the '70's. He instilled confidence in that young art student who didn't see any talent of her own hands. Mr Lessack gave a gift that taught me how to trust in myself through the medium of art .
I'd like to add that he was so much fun as our art teacher! I know many of his students have great memories too!
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Dear Jiachen, Josh, Keri, Zach, Jennifer and family, I so wish I could be there to hug all of you and celebrate the wonderful life of Bob.

He was a one of a kind. There' was no one like him. He lived fast, made quick decisions, acted on them right or wrong. He had a sensitive side and acknowledged mistakes he would just tried another way.

You couldn't keep from his inspirations and adventures. He lived fast and with gusto and that is how he left.

He was like the Roadrunner...zoom.

I only worked with him at SMS for a short time and got to meet you, his family. We remained friends and I enjoyed helping all of you with Real Estate deals. More than business, Bob made me feel like family and so do all of you. I am grateful for the brief job that led to a lifetime connection. Bob lives on in each of you and there will be times that you will catch yourself thinking " What would Bob do?"

Love and hugs...my heart is breaking for you all. May you find some comfort in his memory and stories about his adventures you share together.
