Robert Edward Littlefield, known affectionately as Ed, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Homosassa, Florida, at the age of 77. Born on February 16, 1948, in Panama City, Florida, Ed lived a life marked by deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, who served during the Vietnam War, earning multiple medals and attaining the rank of Sergeant. Though he lived with the lasting effects of PTSD, he carried that burden with humility, resilience, and grace.
After leaving the military in 1969, on February 28, 1971, Ed dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On September 25, 1971, Ed married the love of his life, Debbie, and together for 54 years they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to Jehovah. He remained a faithful servant of Jehovah throughout his life, serving for many years as a Ministerial Servant in the Homosassa, FL Congregation. Ed’s quiet wisdom, loving counsel, and strong example touched the lives of many in his spiritual family.
Professionally, Ed worked as a transportation manager with Greyhound and several other bus companies throughout his life. He was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and reliability.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Littlefield; his children: Bret Littlefield and his wife Rhonda, Missy Lilly and her husband John, Casey Littlefield and his wife Ashleigh, Travis Littlefield, and Summer Stebbinsand her husband Dan.
He was a proud grandfather to Bryce Littlefield, Daylin Littlefield, Coby Littlefield, Sabrina Lindley, Tristan Littlefield, Hayden Littlefield, and Robbie Lilly, and a cherished great-grandfather to Carsyn, Blakley, Bryson, Rosie and Grayson.
He is also survived by his siblings: Lenda Whittaker, Will Littlefield, Dexter Littlefield Sr., and Valorie Littlefield, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Ed will be remembered as a humble, principled, and faithful man — a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He found joy in life’s simple moments, he deeply loved his family, he was generous and eager to help anyone in time of need, his strength, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held on July 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1175 S. Skyway Ave., Homosassa, FL 34448. All who knew and loved Ed are welcome to attend.
