GROVER - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Casey Lovelace, who left this world on November 20, 2025 at the age of 77. Born on March 14, 1948, in Shelby, North Carolina, Robert spent his final days in Grover, North Carolina, surrounded by loved ones.
Robert was a man of rare kindness and generosity, whose presence brought warmth to all who knew him. A loving and caring soul, he was always willing to give the shirt off his back to help others. His gentle spirit and unwavering compassion touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
An enthusiast of woodworking, Robert found joy and solace in crafting beautiful pieces, each creation reflecting his meticulous attention to detail and deep appreciation for the craft. He also held a fondness for old westerns, losing himself in tales of courage and adventure that mirrored his own steadfast character.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Authur Gayvon Lovelace and Myrtle Branch Lovelace; his cherished wife, Doris Louise Black Lovelace; his grandson, Tyrell Carlton ; and his brothers, Red Lovelace and Charles Lovelace. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Robin Winston (Aaron) and Cynthia Woods (Dwight); son, Rogar Gilliem (Willie);six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Robert's life on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. As we come together to celebrate his life, we hold onto the memories of a man who lived with a giving heart and a gentle touch—a true inspiration to us all.
