Robert Lovell Obituary
Dr. Robert Lee Lovell Jr., a distinguished physician and cherished member of the Mounds, Oklahoma community, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Born on April 24, 1951, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, he was the son of Robert Lee Lovell Sr. and Anna Faye (Aldridge) Lovell.
Dr. Lovell's academic journey began at Weleetka High School, from which he graduated in 1969. He furthered his education at Oklahoma City University, earning his degree in 1973. His passion for medicine led him to the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery (OSUCOMS), where he obtained his medical degree in 1987. Following his graduation, Dr. Lovell became a board-certified Medical Doctor, dedicating over three decades to the field of family medicine.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Lovell was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying activities such as hunting and fishing. He deeply valued time spent with family and friends, cherishing the relationships that enriched his life. A devout member of the Glenpool Church of Christ, he actively participated in community and church activities, reflecting his commitment to service and fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his loving wife, Carol Lovell in 2010.
Dr. Lovell is survived by his brother, Dr. Gary Lovell & wife Donna of Henryetta, two nephews, Danny Lovell & wife Amber of Dallas, Texas, and Andy Lovell of Edmond, Oklahoma, one niece, Sarah Thompson & husband Travis of Henryetta, other family, friends, and the many lives he touched through his medical practice and community involvement. His legacy of compassion, dedication, and service will be remembered by all who knew him.
Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00AM, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Church of Christ, 413 W. Broadway, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
