Robert E. Lowery, 84, of Nevada, MO passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2025. Robert, son of William and Virginia Lowery, was born on December 1, 1940, in Lamar, MO. He married his wife Patricia in 1961 and had 3 children Kirk, Becky, and Robyn.
Robert loved to fish, listen to country music, and spend time with his family. He liked telling stories about his childhood and had a playful sense of humor. He was a proud member of Shriners Hospital International and enjoyed participating in gatherings with friends. He spent his entire professional life working for the telephone company Southwestern Bell and AT&T where he made many lifelong friends and enjoyed his work immensely. In 2008, he retired after almost 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia Lowery, daughter Robyn Lowery, and brother Bill Lowery.
Robert is survived by his wife Patricia Lowery, children Kirk Lowery and Becky Lowery, sisters Dottie Innes and Ann Duer, grandchildren Kori Lowery (Scott) and Cassidy Desmond (Tayler), great grandchildren Beck Bertoldie and Ivy Desmond, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Memorial donations can be made in his honor to Shriners Children's Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Jim Wirth officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Lamar. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
