Robert Malara Obituary

Robert A. Malara
Chili: With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert A. Malara, who left us on January 31, 2025, at the age of 74. Robert was a man who lived for his family, his friends, and the simple joys in life. Bob is predeceased by his parents, Margaret & Frank Malara. He is survived by his wife, Denise (Christopher) Malara; children, Nicholas (Kelly) Malara & Rachelle (Anthony) Colosimo; Alicia Costa; grandchildren, Rosetta Malara, Dominic Colosimo; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.
Bob's Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, February 11th, 9:30 AM at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Private interment in Western NY National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Parkinson's Foundation, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Suite 1600, Rochester, NY 14620 in Bob's memory.
Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was watching Dominic take his first steps or hearing about Rosetta earning a different belt at karate, their accomplishments brought him endless joy and pride. His face would light up every time he saw them.
Robert cherished his weekly card games with "the boys" and had a passion for horse racing, often placing a bet or two just for the thrill of it. He also had a deep love for cars, whether attending car shows or simply admiring a classic ride.
Later in life, he found joy in running his hot dog stand, serving up good food and great conversations at the local OTB. His "Bowers hots" and famous hot sauce became a local favorite, with people always asking him to cater their parties or make a special batch.
Robert lived life on his own terms, a trait reflected perfectly in his and Denise's wedding song, My Way by Frank Sinatra. With his stubborn Italian personality, he always had to do things his way, and those who knew him wouldn't have had it any other way. His love, laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
