Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gleason Funeral Home of Somerset on Oct. 25, 2025.
Robert Marcin
Robert Marcin passed away on Friday October 24, 2025, at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick at the age of sixty-three.
Bob was born in New Brunswick and raised in Old Bridge Township. He graduated from Cedar Ridge High School, where he excelled in wrestling, participated on the track & field team, and enjoyed tennis matches with his brother. He went on to graduate from Trenton State College with a bachelor's degree in business. Bob had a twenty-four year career in finance with Bank BNP Paribas and Merrill Lynch before retiring eighteen years ago.
Bob was a parishioner of St. Matthias Church in Somerset. He was very active in the church community while his son attended school at St. Matthias, serving as Treasurer of the Parent Teacher Association and Treasurer of The Athletic Association. He volunteered frequently at the many school functions and in the community, including volunteering his time as a Franklin Township Little League coach.
Bob was an avid golfer who enjoyed weekly rounds with his fraternity brothers. He was a wonderful cook, a devoted New York Yankees fan, and cherished walks at Colonial Park with his wife Theresa and their Labrador retriever. Bob lived life to the fullest, and his infectious laugh and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father Theodore Marcin.
Mr. Marcin is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years Theresa Marcin and their son Jake Marcin. He is also survived by his mother Sylvia Marcin; his brother Glenn Marcin and his wife Ayten; his brother Theodore Marcin; his sister Lynne Marcin; and his devoted black lab, Dante.
Visiting will be held on Thursday October 30, 2025 from 3-7 PM at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Services will begin on Friday October 31, 2025, at 9:15 AM followed by a 10 AM funeral mass at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Somerset.
