Robert Kennon Martin

Funeral services for Robert Kennon Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Simmons Mill United Pentecostal Church in Pitkin with Reverend Randall Martin officiating. The burial will follow in Buck Martin Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Martin, Dustin McCallon, Toby Martin, Ronnie Martin, Brett Martin, Landin Martin, Levi Martin, Waylon Martin, and Kennon Ordner. The honorary pallbearers will be Peanut Martin, Larry Martin, and Lenoard Martin. A visitation will be held at Simmons Mill United Pentecostal Church on Thursday, March 13th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Robert was born March 11, 1952, in Pitkin, Louisiana and passed away March 10, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 72. Raised in the Soapstone community, he worked on his family's land before school and again in the evening. When he turned 19, Robert moved to Houston, Texas where he started working in the sheet metal business. He was a ladies' man and a self-proclaimed hippie. His friendly nature ensured that he never met a stranger. Watching the moon and listening to music were some of his favorite things, but above all, his deepest love was for his children. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie Leroy Martin & Bessie Irene Hill Martin; brother, Charles Martin; and sister, Dorothy Sue Mageara. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Brett Martin, Tyler Martin, and Landin Martin; daughters, Jennifer Martin, Haley McCallon (Dustin), Amber Martin, and Kaitlin Martin (Jacob); grandchildren, Kennon, Hunter, Brayson, Hadlee, Phoenix, Kaivia, Kaseleigh, Kalace, Raeanna, Makena, Kyleigh, Bentley, Irene, and Elaine; brothers, Larry Martin, Leonard Martin, Randall Martin, Ronnie Martin, and Toby Martin; sisters, Charlene Mendrzycki, Carolyn Martin, and Doneice Hardt; and a host of extended family members and friends.
