Mark Nathaniel "Nate" Martin, born August 27, 1998, in
Raleigh, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2026. A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Nate was educated in the Wake County Public School System, attending Oak Grove Elementary School, Lufkin Road Middle School, and Apex High School. From an early age, he displayed a sharp mind, a determined spirit, and a natural leadership ability that would continue to shape his life.
At the time of his passing, Nate was in his senior year at Regent University, pursuing a virtual degree in Cyber Security. Regent will be awarding Nate an honorary degree. His passion for technology was evident not only in his studies but also in his professional life. As an IT contractor with Field Nation, Nate completed projects throughout North Carolina and Virginia. He oversaw teams of up to a dozen subcontractors, leading major technology installations for new factories, department stores, and other businesses requiring complex installation, maintenance, and repair. He approached every project with diligence, precision, and pride.
Beyond his technical talents, Nate was deeply creative. He loved music and expressed himself through recording several albums. Whether behind a computer building systems or behind a microphone creating songs, Nate poured his heart into everything he did. Athletics also played a meaningful role in his life. He played soccer throughout his school years and competed at a high level in Wake County with CASL and Wake FC. His natural athleticism became legendary one season in middle school when a track coach, recognizing his speed, asked him to compete in meets. Without any prior practice, Nate won two meets in a row - a testament to his remarkable God-given ability and fearless confidence.
Nate's greatest joy, however, was found in love and faith. He married his sweetheart, Laura, whom he met while they were colleagues at The Vineyard, a Christian camp in Stokes County founded in 1983 by Pastor Dean Barley. Their shared faith and partnership were central to their lives. Laura worked alongside Nate in his business, supporting his vision and building a life rooted in commitment, love, and service.
A celebration of Nate's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, at Kings Park International Church, 1305 Odyssey Dr.
Durham, NC 27713.
His wife Laura, his father and mother Mark and Kym Martin, and his four sisters Lauren, Anna, Sarah, and Susanna all extend heartfelt thanks to all who loved and supported Nate throughout his life. Your prayers, friendship, and kindness have been a source of strength and comfort.
Nate will be remembered for God-given brilliance, creativity, competitive spirit, and most of all, his generous heart. Though his years were far too few, his impact was deep and lasting. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the work he built, the music he created, and the love he shared so freely. We thank God for his life.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
