Robert Earl Martin

Robert Earl Martin, aka Bobby Martin, the son of the late Monroe Lorenzo and Carmen Esril Martin, was born on February 13, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama.
He gave his heart to the Lord and accepted Him as his personal savior at an early age. Bobby was baptized in September 1945 by the late Rev. Fred Wesley of the Evergreen Baptist Church, where, as a child, he was developing faith in God. Later in life, he became a member of the Generation of Praise Christian Church in Gambrills, MD.
Bobby attended public school in Pittsburgh, PA. Upon graduation from Snowden Township High School in 1955, he joined the United States Air Force. This began his career in the federal government, which spanned over 38 years. While in the military for twenty years, he served on active duty in the United States Air Force, his tours taking him to Taiwan, Formosa, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan, where he gained expertise as a communication specialist. That training was the catalyst for his service with the National Security Agency then moved on to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Satellite Operations Control Center in Washington, D.C.
After he retired, he met Brenda Hagans, his friend and partner, on February 27, 1996. Bobby and Brenda were later joined in holy matrimony.
Bobby was preceded in death by an older sister, Willi Ophelia Archie; an older brother, Monroe Lorenzo Martin; and a younger nephew, James Edward Hudson. Bobby leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda Martin; daughter, Monique Lynch and her husband, Charles; one sister, Shirley Martin of Fontana, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
