Robert Mauldin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2024.
Let us honor and remember the life of Robert "Bobby" Andrew Mauldin, who passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. A man whose legacy is as enduring as the values he lived by.
Mr. Mauldin was born May 12, 1940 in Buncombe County to the late William Mauldin and the late Ruth Hyatt Mauldin and Bobby's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
Bobby served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. His time stationed in Kuwait during Desert Storm spoke volumes of his bravery and commitment to the ideals of freedom and service. His dedication to his nation was paralleled only by his dedication to his family.
Bobby had received an Associate's Degree in Business while residing in Durham, North Carolina and later made his home in Canton where he retired from Champion International in Canton, North Carolina with many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful and loyal Duke Blue Devils fan and the serenity of casting his fishing line in his favorite mountain streams were things that Bobby will always be remembered for.
Mr. Mauldin was an important part of the communities where he had resided and he was friend to everyone. He had attended AME Church in Asheville. Above all Bobby was a devoted husband and "Pop" and his great love for his family was boundless. He was a great inspiration of love and integrity.
On this day we rejoice for the life of Robert "Bobby" Mauldin and what he meant to those blessed to know him. Let us find comfort in knowing his life will continue to inspire us each and every day. " Well done thy good and faithful servant."
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Langford Mauldin of Canton; his children, Pamela Brown of Decatur, Georgia, William Mauldin and his wife, Leslie of Canton, and Deitra Smith of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Brittani Mauldin, Robert Andrew "Drew" Mauldin, Mikayla Smith and Kiana Harris.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
