Zettie Plemmons Obituary
Zettie was the eldest of eight children born to Raymond and Fannie Plemmons. From an early age, she embraced the role of nurturer and guide to her younger siblings, becoming like a second mother within the family. Her deep sense of responsibility and unwavering love shaped not only her own life but also the lives of those around her.
A devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart, Zettie was a faithful member of Good News Baptist Church in Candler, North Carolina. Her unwavering faith shaped every aspect of her life and inspired her daily actions.
She was known for her compassion and grace, and always had a kind word or a helping hand for others. Zettie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved tending to her plants and flowers and cherished time spent with family. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, reflecting the love she so generously shared.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, RJ Plemmons.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Theresia King, and son-in-law, Steve King. She is also survived by her sisters Genevieve Kevish, Faye Capps, Wanda Inman, and Linda Stamey; by her brothers Paul Plemmons and Wade Plemmons (sister-in-law Peggy Plemmons); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Good News Baptist Church, located at 1953 Smoky Park Highway. Reverend Steve Smith will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will follow at The Horizon Mausoleum in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Alan Allison, Landon Allison, Bryan Capps, Joshua Dailey, Michael Plemmons, Michael Rhinehart, Von Inman, and Raymond Ramirez.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations go to Missions at Good News Baptist Church.
Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness and faith. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
