Robert "PaPaw" McClanahan, 86, went home to be with Jesus on January 4, 2026. He had worked as a logger and skidder operator, was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church in Ellington, MO, and he enjoyed singing gospel music, playing the guitar, fixing things, and being with his beloved grandchildren. Though born in Van Buren, AR, he'd been a Tennessee resident for the past four years.

Robert was born on October 22, 1939, to Frank and Pearl (Bacon) McClanahan, both of whom preceded him in death. He had four brothers and one sister: Brenda Shipman, Ralph McClanahan, LeeRoy McClanahan, and Carl McClanahan preceded him in death. His brother J.D. McClanahan survives.

On August 1, 1983, Robert married Mildred (Millie) Opal Foster in Coon Island, MO, and she also preceded him in death on July 30, 2020. Together, before her departure, they had 9 children. Preceding Millie and Robert were their children: a daughter, Jeana Faye McClanahan, and two sons, Randy and Johnnie McClanahan. Surviving are Scott McClanahan, Chris McClanahan, Jamie Probst, Ronnie Hawks, Rhonda Hardin, and Melvin Hicks.

PaPaw had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who survive as well. His services will be held at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, MO, on Friday, January 9, 2026.
