Robert McClintock, 87, of Independence, MO, passed away at a local Independence hospital on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2025. Born July 9, 1937, in Kansas City to Arthur and Daisy McClintock. Robert was the first in his family to graduate high school. His love for his family was unwavering. He married Christie Crum on March 23, 1969, in Virginia, and together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Robert's love for Jesus Christ was evident daily, and he never turned down an evening Bible study.
His service in the Army, his work for the Railroad, and his early retirement from the Bayer Chemical Plant were all in service of his family. He was a man of strong principles, a loving husband, and a doting father. He loved his family, KU Jayhawks, traveling, hard rock candies, and pigging out at all-you-can-eat buffets. He loved music and could dance the night away. He was proud to see the evolution of rock-n-roll music from its infancy. He also loved racing his kids in his "68" fastback Ford Mustang.
Robert's faith was tested during his time in the Army when two fellow servicemen kidnapped him. They took him to the woods, threatening to end his life. Robert, however, credits God for intervening and saving him. Though harrowing, this incident only strengthened his faith and belief in divine intervention, a testament to his resilience and unwavering spirit.
Robert was from a Gold Star family; his brother, PFC Wayne McClintock, died in action in WWII. Robert was preceded in death by his twin sister Barbara Parks and his sister Wanda Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Christie; three daughters, Kimberly McClintock, Shannon Foster, and KristaLin Davis; son Robert McClintock Jr.; and son-in-law Curtis Danielson. He also has many nieces and nephews.
Robert was very proud of his 3 Grandsons, 1 Granddaughter, and 1 Angel Grandbaby.
Psalms 23:5-6 (KJV)
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Robert will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery, where his oldest brother Wayne is interred. All who knew and loved Robert are welcome to attend.
