Robert McCoy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Robert E McCoy III passed away August 2, 2025 peacefully on his own terms. In his own house where he could sit in his chair, hold his kitty, smoke and drink Pepsi. Surrounded with love and care from his devoted partner and loving granddaughter who would occasionally paint his toenails while he slept in his chair. Born June 9th 1968 by the late Dianna Ward in Dover, OH Bobby surrounded himself with friends that would last a lifetime and became his family. To those of us that truly knew him, he was a gentle soul whose love for people and animals shined through. If you asked Bobby what he was proud of, he would tell anyone it was his son Quinton. Being his father made Bobby so happy and proud. Watching Quinton become a father and seeing how great he was with his granddaughter Kali, made Quinton the one thing Bobby did right. He wanted so much to be able to spend more time with them but his illness kept him ground and his life was cut to short. Bobby's passion to collect skulls, reapers, clowns, flags, knives and other knick knacks over the years turned his house in to a display of the person he was, truly unique and intriguing to many. Bobby needed that wind therapy, it was his peace. He loved to ride, it was his favorite thing to do. When he could no longer ride he lost a piece of himself.
Struggling with the person cancer turned him into, you would mostly find him sitting on the swing in his back yard by the water watching the ducks and turtles holding his kitty and reflecting back on his own life. Typically awaiting either a text back from his step son Warren who he now felt closer to then ever before. Or a surprise visit from Step sons Richard or Paul who always made time just to talk to him.
The two things Bobby looked forward to every night was that his Stepdaughter Riquel was going to show up for dinner and answer any medical questions that he had and that His sister Christine was going to face time him before he went to bed. If he didn't know anything else he knew both of them loved him unconditionally. He has touched the lives of many and will live on in our memories while he is reunited with his loved ones and friends who have been waiting his arrival into heaven. Bobby leaves behind his partner of ten years Lisa Murkins. Son: Quinton White (Amanda) Step Children: Warren Lippencott (Julie), Cheyenne Lippencott, Jeff Newton, Paul Wolfe(Toby) Riquel Murkins, Richard Murkins III (Hailey) and Christopher Murkins. Granddaughters: Kali White, Teagan Murkins and Ellianna Lippencott. Sister: Christine Shaffer (Joel)
Celebration of life will be posted via facebook by Quinton White. In lieu of flowers, donations for end of life expense and celebration would be appreciated. https://gofund.me/97160ecb
