Robert McCoy Obituary

Mr. McCoy was born, May 7, 1934 in Englewood, New Jersey, a son of William K. McCoy and Minnie Alston McCoy Hurdle. He was a graduate of The Rayen School in Youngstown and joined the U. S. Navy after graduation where he became an electrician. He worked at GM Packard Electric as an electrician, then a foreman supervisor before retiring in June of 1992.
Bobby was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his no nonsense, endearing approach to life. He was an advisor for all that knew him. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. He was a 50 year member of the Covenant Lodge #59 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a dedicated Cleveland sports fan, with an undying faith in the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his four children, Kimberly McCoy, Ronald McCoy, and Sonya McCoy all of Youngstown, and Nikki (Kenneth) Willner of Willoughby, OH; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Boone of Youngstown; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Lee Winston McCoy, whom he married March 29, 1958 and who passed away May 30, 2025; two children, Lenwood P. McCoy and Robert W. McCoy; and three siblings, William "Bill" McCoy Minnie Patterson and Carol Dennis.
Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Yo., OH. A memorial service by the Masons will be held. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
