Obituary of Robert T. McHatton
Robert T. "Bob" McHatton 86, of Waldo, ME, formerly of Manchester, NH and Melrose, MA passed away peacefully Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockland, ME.
He was born in Melrose, MA to the late Horace and Mary (Silva) McHatton. He was a graduate of Melrose High School and Northeastern University.
Bob was a mechanical engineer and had been employed during his professional career at TAD (The Associated Designers, Cambridge, MA), Malden Mills, Voltek and his own company McHatton Associates.
He previously enjoyed his time spent at Baboosic Lake, Amherst, NH and at the Mann Farm, Shapleigh, ME. He was a member of the Belfast Curling Club and member of Granite State BMW Riders.
Bob is survived by his wife Claire, of Waldo, ME, his son Robert McHatton, two granddaughters Mackenzie McHatton and Heather McHatton all of Ashburnham, MA, his stepsons, Brian & Colin Smith and their families, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Former husband of Beverly McHatton-Balfour.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Eleanor Cronin, Dorothy Geyer, Ruth Gorman, Irene Mann-Murray, and Shirley Crawford.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
